  • Sunday School Program: 4 & 5 year olds

  • As we continue our remote learning, we would like to provide parents of our youngest learners with the following resources to help inspire their learning about our faith.

Even though Christmas and Epiphany have passed, there are still many Catholic resources available to keep your preschoolers busy during January and February. In addition to celebrating the Holy Name of JESUS in January, we celebrate St. Valentine in February. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which is February 17th this year. (We will explore the Lenten season in our next preschool update for February/March 2021.)

    CATHOLIC ICING:
“Catholic Icing” has links dedicated to every month of the Liturgical year, including January and February:
https://www.catholicicing.com/living-the-liturgical-year-for-families-organizing-your-resources/ This is the link for “liturgical year” resources which will help you celebrate the church calendar with your kids throughout the entire year!
https://www.catholicicing.com/january-saint-feast-days-to-celebrate-with-kids/ This link will bring you to Catholic Icing’s January resources. There is a section focused on the Holy Name of JESUS, with a fun song and craft.
https://www.catholicicing.com/february-saint-feast-days-to-celebrate-with-kids/ The February link includes all the saint feast days, including St. Valentine on February 14th, as well as a lesser-known celebration called Candlemas on February 2nd. Candlemas celebrates the Presentation of the Lord, and occurs 40 days after Christmas. There are several fun resources to celebrate this day with your children.

TEN ACTIVITIES FOR CATHOLIC FAMILIES IN JANUARY":https://www.reallifeathome.com/10-activities-for-catholic-families-in-january-printable/ This link provides some more fun activities for your little ones during the month of January. One idea is to share pictures and keepsakes of your child’s baptism with them in celebration of the Baptism of the Lord (Feast Day: January 10, 2021).

CATHOLIC FAMILY FAITH WEBSITE Some of this collection of resources is for older kids, but there are resources suitable for preschoolers as well. For example, there is a short and simple video from PBS about Martin Luther King Day. There are also some cute links for Valentine’s Day activities such as “Making Jesus Our Valentine” and “Creating a Love Jar.”
